Have Questions?

Fotofacial RF™ uses IPL (intense pulsed light) combined with RF (radiofrequency) technologies. This combination makes Fotofacial RF™ distinctly different from traditional IPL treatments.

What is Fotofacial RF™ used to treat?

It can be used to treat “browns” (sun damage, melasma, freckles, cholasma, mask of pregnancy) and “reds” (broken capillaries, rosacea, flushing, ruddy complexion spider veins) and general aging (fine lines, skin laxity).

It can be used on face, neck, decolletage, hands, back, and arms.

  • What is the procedure like? Does it hurt to have Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

What is the procedure like? Does it hurt to have Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

There is minimal discomfort during treatment (like a little rubber band snapping the skin). We use a cooling device for comfort during the treatment.

  • Will there be any downtime after Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

Will there be any downtime after Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

There is no downtime. You may notice that any brown spots on your skin look much darker immediately after your treatments, and these darker spots will exfoliate away after a few days. They can be covered with makeup, if you choose. You might also notice that any broken capillaries have a bruised appearance after treatment. These will resolve after a week or so, and can also be covered with makeup pretty easily.

  • How many Fotofacial RF™ treatments will I need?

How many Fotofacial RF™ treatments will I need?

3-5 initial treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart. Then you can use Fotofacial RF as part of your overall skin maintenance, if you so choose.

  • What kind of results can I expect after having Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

What kind of results can I expect after having Fotofacial RF™ treatments?

You will notice a consistent improvement in your skin over the course of your treatment sessions. The degree of improvement is gradual and persistent. It is often beneficial to do microdermabrasion between FotoFacial RF™ sessions, to exfoliate the dead skin cells, allowing for a better rejuvenation treatment.
