As many of you may know, CoolSculpting is a noninvasive treatment that attacks fat cells by freezing them. The fat cells are destroyed and then metabolized out of your body through your body’s natural process. Recovery and side effects vary; fat freezing has risks that should be discussed before treatment.
This 2015 announcement described the introduction of a smaller applicator. Current treatment areas depend on the specific FDA-cleared device and applicator; ask the practice which areas are appropriate for you. Most patients will need to treat the areas 1-2 times; with studies showing that a patient will begin to see results within the first 3 weeks, reaching their maximum results by 1-3 months.

The original availability announcement above dates to 2015. Contact the practice for current treatment options and scheduling.

Fat-freezing risks and realistic expectations
Fat freezing treats localized bulges; it is not a weight-loss or obesity treatment. Pain, bruising, swelling, and prolonged numbness can occur. Less common complications include burns and paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), where treated fat enlarges rather than shrinks and may require surgery. Tell your clinician about cold-sensitivity conditions and any hernia or weakness in the treatment area.
