Restylane®

As we age, we lose fullness in our face and hands, which makes us look older and gives us those deep smile lines, marionette lines (the lines going down from the corners of the mouth), thin lips, and undereye hollowing. We also lose collagen and elastin as we age, which adds to our wrinkles.

Restylane® simply restores lost volume and fills lines and wrinkles. It is also great for enhancing the shape and size of lips (lip augmentation).

You will begin the consultation process by meeting with our Physician Assistants or Dr. Kavali. She will help to establish your goals for your procedures and take your before photos to accurately track your transformation.

The consultation time is meant to be comfortable and educational. We want you to feel completely informed, so you can make your own personal best decision.

  • Is Restylane® right for me?

    Is Restylane® right for me?

There are quite a few fillers available today, which makes choosing the right filler sometimes seem confusing. We will discuss all your options with you and help you choose the filler that’s right for you. The fillers on the market today vary in composition, and some are better in specific areas of the face, while others may not be good for certain areas.

  • Will my lips look huge and fake after I have Restylane® put in them?

Will my lips look huge and fake after I have Restylane® put in them?

It is absolutely possible to have Restylane® put in your lips and have it look natural and soft. Any filler can look fake if it’s not done correctly or is overdone. Keep in mind, though, that some people LIKE that fake look. We don’t make “fake” in our office unless that’s what you want. We understand that most people want to look as natural as possible, so that’s what we strive to give you.

  • What’s in Restylane®? How does Restylane® work?

    What’s in Restylane®? How does Restylane® work?

Restylane® is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar found in our bodies normally. It’s part of our skin, your joints, and your eyes. But as we age, we lose some of that hyaluronic acid, as well as collagen. Restylane® literally fills the lines and wrinkles, smoothing them instantly. What makes Restylane® different from other fillers? Restylane® is different from other fillers in the following ways: it’s the only filler that is FDA-approved for use in the lips, making it a great choice for lip augmentation or enhancement it can last up to 18 months, if you have a touch-up treatment done a few months after your initial treatment it is pre-mixed with lidocaine (numbing medicine), so the procedure is as comfortable as possible What is a Restylane® treatment like? Does it hurt? You’ll meet with Dr. Kavali or one of our Physician Assistants. They will want to understand your concerns and your goals. Then they will discuss all your options. If you decide to try Restylane®, you will be given some ice to place on your treatment areas. This will help numb the skin. Restylane® is pre-mixed with lidocaine (numbing medicine), so the procedure is as comfortable as possible. While it is impossible to make it completely pain-free, the procedure is quite tolerable. We use a tiny needle to inject the Restylane® exactly where it should go. You’ll see your results instantly! And you can apply makeup immediately after the treatment. You can also get back to all your normal activities right away.

  • How long does Restylane® last?

    How long does Restylane® last?

Restylane® lasts about 9 months. Many people find that doing a “touch-up” session a few months after the original filling session can make the overall results last as long as 15-18 months. The touch-up session involves using just a tiny bit more Restylane® to “top off the tank” about 4 months after your initial treatment.
